Diamond weight is measured in units called carats.

Each carat is divided into 100 points. A one half carat diamond weighs 50 points, or .5 carats. Diamond weight can also be expressed in fractions (e.g., ½ carat and 1½ carat).

Generally speaking, the larger the diamond, the rarer and more expensive it is, but there is no common equation for determining price based on carat weight alone.

For example, a 1.00 carat diamond typically will cost four times as much as a .50 carat diamond of equal quality.

Each of our bridal diamonds are weighed and guaranteed to an accuracy of 1/100 of a carat.
