Official Contest Rules

No purchase necessary. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
Contest begins July 1, 2010 and ends July 31, 2010.
Winners will be selected in a random drawing on or about August 15, 2010.
Open only to legal U.S. residents who are eighteen (18) years and older.
One Grand Prize winner will receive a Yellow Gold, 1/4 ct. tw. Diamond Engagement Ring, valued at $850.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded; not redeemable in cash, credit or merchandise.
How to Enter: Complete on-line entry form for the Sweepstakes and submit it in accordance with the on-screen directions; or hand print your name, complete address and phone number either on a post card or separate piece of paper no larger than 8 1/2”x 11” mailing the card or paper to Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc., Engagement Ring Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 42121, Portland, OR 97242 (limit one entry per envelope). Limit one online entry per person and per e-mail address. All entries must be received no later than July 31, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST. All entries received after 11:59 PM on July 31, 2010 will be discarded. Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected entries, postage due mail, mutilated, incomplete, incorrect or illegible entries. On-line entrants must be authorized account holders of the e-mail account from which the entry is made. Regardless of the number of entries (properly) submitted, each entrant is limited to registering only one mailing address and e-mail address in this Sweepstakes. Limit one prize per person, per household. Entrants may not enter with multiple e-mail addresses and/or multiple identities nor may entrants use any other device or artifice to obtain more than the maximum number of entries; if Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. determines or has been informed, that any individual has engaged in such activities, all of his/her entries shall be disqualified from the Sweepstakes. Entries that are illegible, altered, tampered with, contain printing or production errors, are distributed where prohibited by law or obtained through irregular channels are void. Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant if Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. determines or has been informed by Kroger that such person has been found to be disrupting the operation or integrity of the Sweepstakes or web site(s) or such entrant is acting in violation of Terms of Service or the Terms and Conditions as determined by Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc.
Disqualification/Termination: If, in Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Sweepstakes, Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. reserves the right to terminate the Sweepstakes and conduct a random drawing to award the prizes using all online and write-in entries received as of the termination date. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, notice will be posted on the Fred Meyer Jewelers and/or the Littman Jewelers Web site.
Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. is not responsible for unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer or telephone transmissions or technical failure, jumbled, scrambled or misdirected transmissions, or other error of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic, including those resulting from the efforts of hackers. Entries that are submitted by means other than as set forth in these Official Rules will not be honored.
In the sole discretion of the applicable party, Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. may prosecute any such fraudulent activities to the full extent of the law. In the event that Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. determines or has been informed that any Internet component of this promotion is compromised by virus, bugs, hackers, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, technical failures or other causes beyond the control of Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
Entry into contest automatically constitutes permission of sponsor to use name and/or likeness of entries for purpose of advertising without any further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Employees of Fred Meyer, their affiliates, subsidiaries, participating sponsors and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are ineligible.
All federal, state and local laws apply. Void where prohibited.
By accepting the prize, winner agrees to hold Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc., its parent corporation, subsidiaries, affiliated agencies, sponsors, their respective directors, officers, and employees harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of or participation in the contest or the receipt of any prizes.
By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges.
The winner(s) will be notified by mail (“Notification Letter”) or by telephone and followed up with a Notification Letter. The Notification Letter will include an Affidavit of Eligibility Form to be signed by the Winner and returned by mail or hand delivery to Fred Meyer within fourteen (14) days of the date appearing at the top of the Notification Letter.
The Affidavit of Eligibility Form must be received by Fred Meyer on or before the expiration of such fourteen (14) day period. The failure to return the Affidavit of Eligibility before the expiration of the fourteen (14) day period may result in disqualification effective as of 8:00 AM on the day following the expiration of the Affidavit of Eligibility return date and an alternate winner may be drawn.
Customers without a proper address and those who have opted to not be contacted by Fred Meyer for any reason will be excluded from the drawing. Notification Letters returned as undeliverable will result in award to alternate. Prize substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prize by winner is in violation of these rules and regulations, is not permitted. Fred Meyer reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value. Void where prohibited by law. Sweepstakes are subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations. All federal/state/local taxes are Winner’s sole responsibility. Participating in the Sweepstakes constitutes acceptance of these official rules and the final decision as to the Winner. By accepting the prize, the Winner accepts the prize conditions and grants permission, where legal, to use Winner’s name and/or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without compensation and, upon request, provide consent to such use in writing. Should a prize winner make any false statement in connection with this Sweepstakes, the Winner will be required to promptly return to Fred Meyer, upon demand, his/her prize.
By entering the sweepstakes, entrant agrees that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to this sweepstakes, or awarding of the prizes, will be filed only in the state or federal courts located in the state of Oregon and entrant hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purpose of litigating any such action.
In the event that any provision of the Official Rules or the Affidavit is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
The failure of Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received.
